And right now, we’re looking for a part time 22.5hrs/week Band 6 Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our Community Respiratory Service at St Martin’s Hospital, Bath to help us continue to change things for the better.
Working closely with our team of physiotherapists and nurses you will help to provide a dynamic high quality 6 day individualised, evidence based specialist service which provides supported discharge and an intervention service for patients with COPD and Bronchiectasis. The service also provides community based pulmonary rehabilitation programmes for adults who have respiratory problems as well as assessment and provision of oxygen for all adults in B&NES. You will be working out of St Martin’s Hospital, Keynsham Health Centre, Paulton Hospital and visiting patients in their homes. You will need excellent time management and organisational skills. The team consists of a Physiotherapist Team Lead, 1 Clinical Nurse Specialist, 2.7 wte Respiratory Physiotherapists, 4 Specialist Respiratory Nurses, 1 Rehabilitation Assistant and 1.5wte administrator, providing support and becoming another valued team member.
There is constant patient contact therefore excellent communication skills are required which will include maintaining accurate records in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Professional standards maintaining confidentiality, privacy and dignity of patients at all times.
This is an opportunity to put your Specialist Respiratory Nursing skills to great use. You will be motivating, innovative and adaptable, with the ability to work flexibly as the need arises, holding RCN registration and with strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach will ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.
